Supreme Court: Allow Provisional Admission for CBSE Students, Compartment Exams

The Supreme Court, today adjourned a Writ Petition that sought orders to CBSE to declare the Class XII Private Patrachar/2nd Compartment Students result by applying the same assessment method as applied to the other students of this year.

The petition seeks an order from the Court to change the date sheet of Class XII of Private Patrachar and Compartment Students in order to make sure that the date of the exams does not clash with any other competitive examinations.

The plea has sought directions to ensure that the colleges, universities and other educational institutions, etc. falling under their purview shall take the admissions of Private/Patrachar/2nd Compartment students on a provisional basis

The Constitutional Bench Comprising Justice AM Khanwilkar, Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice KK Maheshwari directed that a copy of the petition should be given to the Standing Counsels from the Respondents side.

In the aforementioned order, the respondents are CBSE, University Grants Commission and All India Council for Technical Education.

In due course of hearing, Advocate Anjaneya Mishra highlighted the Court with the fact that results have not been yet declared meanwhile further exams are being conducted the same day on which Mathematics exam is scheduled.

The Court adjourned the matter to 3rd September 2021.
