Arunachal Pradesh government has filed a case against a Paras Singh, Punjab-based Youtuber for allegedly using racial slur to address an Arunachal Pradesh MLA Ninong Ering from congress.

Paras apologised on 24th May for his remarks by uploading a video on his channel. He reflected that he had been receiving angry comments on social media platforms due to his earlier video and his family is also being targeted for the same.

On 23rd May 2021, the Youtuber allegedly remarked that Congress MLA from Pasighat, Ninong Ering “did not look like an Indian”, he went further and asked his viewers whether people from Arunachal Pradesh resemble the legislator.

Furthermore, Paras aimed at the legislator and pointed to a map of India in his video to say, “Arre yar ye [Arunachal] toh China ke side mein hai (this is on China’s side only).”

He adds, “Ye China walo ka hi hai (it belongs to the Chinese); ek tarah se unhi ke sath hi hai halka fulka touch hota hai, India mein aata hai (in a way, it is with China but touches India a little).”

Arunachal Pradesh DGP RP Upadhyaya informed that Paras has been booked under the charges of inciting “Racial Hatred”.

Paras uploaded the video making the racial remarks, after the MLA sent a letter to PM Modi to not allow the launch of PUBG mobile game in India, on the apprehension of data leaks to foreign countries.
