Since the raid by Delhi Police in the Indian office of twitter there is an outrage in the Global Headquarters of the American micro-blogging giant Twitter.
The company’s worldwide deputy general counsel and VP (Legal), Jim Baker, who has been the former FBI official has been given the task of looking into the situation.
As per few sources the company will also approach the US government due the escalation in India over the ‘manipulated media’ tag to the BJP’s tool-kit tweets after the action by the police.
The global HQs has stepped into the matter as the local offices in India are shut due to the COVID situation. Twitter HQ is coordinating with the Indian team over the issue.
The apprehensions are such that there was a situation of “near panic” post Delhi Police’s Special Cell served a notice to Twitter India, with two teams entering in its offices in Delhi and Gurgaon.
Following the Indian Government’ series of regulations including taking down content critical of the official machinery, there is a large amount of distrust among Twitter’s global officials.
The founder of Twitter Jack Dorsey is believed to lead the next steps in the matter, as he has been instrumental in dealing with the previous escalations when the government warned to arrest and impose penalty on the officials reluctant to pull down ‘inflammatory content’ regarding the farm laws.
