Facebook “Aims to comply” with new IT rules

Facebook is aiming to comply with the new rules of the government, it said on Tuesday. These new rules were made primarily to regulate online content and the social media companies were given a three month deadline to notify about their compliance. Facebook’s notification came just a few hours before the end of the deadline.

A spokesperson of Facebook informed about their will to compliance and added that they would like to discuss certain IT rules and issues with the government.

The company also stated that steps were being taken to “implement operational processes and improve efficiencies”. The statement emphasized the commitment of Facebook to keep providing people a platform where they can freely express themselves.

The company also owns other platforms such as Instagram and WhatsApp other than its main platform. The new IT rules impacts all of them.
