The Jharkhand High Court postpones Lalu Prasad Yadav’s bail hearing till 27th November.

Lalu has by now completed half of his sentence out of seven years imprisonment. He was convicted by the CBI Court in Ranchi in the Dumka treasury case. The case dealt with the illegal withdrawal of crores of rupees.

The former Chief Minister of Bihar was also convicted in four cases concerning the fodder scam. Earlier this year, he was granted bail in the defamation case of the 2017 Bhagalpur speech.

He is the founder of the Rashtra Janata Dal (RJD) political party. This will be for the first time that he will not contest elections in the upcoming Bihar polls.
