Delhi court orders FIR against Gurdwara committee chief, finds allegations serious

A Delhi court has directed registration of FIR against Manjinder Singh Sirsa, president of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), and other unknown names, for allegedly misappropriating funds.

The court said that the allegations are “serious in nature.”
The bills provided to the court look “fictitious prima facie” as they do not bear anyone’s signature from the Committee.

The court ordered this after a Sikh stakeholder had complained against Sirsa. Bhupinder Singh had said that Sirsa had shown sham transactions, resulting in a loss to public funds of Rs 65,99,729.

Sirsa said that there are no allegations against him, the court has ordered the investigation in bills “to ascertain whether there are proper bills available or not.”

According to him, the bills were maintained by the ex-president Manjit Singh GK.

“The court has named Sirsa and asked for an FIR to be registered in his name. I have evidence that he had got the payments made under his signatures for erecting tents at the homes of top Akali leaders.”

“As per the DSGMC Act 1971, that governs the working of Gurdwara committee, the general secretary is the administrative head as he is in charge of accounts, purchase and personal matters,” said the former president of DSGMC.
