The Allahabad High Court has asked the Central and State government to file a reply in a habeas corpus petition alleging the illegal detention of two Nigerian nationals since last year.
A Bench of Justices Ramesh Sinha and Samit Gopal heard the petition.
As per the information provided to the Court, Chima Paul Ugochukwu and Chinasa Victor Obioha were unlawfully detained.
Advocate Anurag Ojha, for the detainees, has informed the court that his clients were not even presented before the Magistrate till now.
He has urged the Court to issue directions for immediate release.
Also, he added that none among their relatives were informed about any case registered against them.
Advocate Balmukund appeared for the central government, and AGA AR Chaurasia appeared for the state government.
The matter is scheduled for hearing on November 18.
