Advocate Kitty Kumarmangalam, the wife of Late Former Union Minister P.R Kumarmangalam, was found murdered at her residence in Southwest Delhi’s Vasant Vihar, the police reported on Wednesday.
The police have suspected a robbery attempt behind the killing of the 67-year-old and have apprehended the deceased’s washerman, Raju in connection therewith.

Based on his statement on a preliminary investigation conducted so far, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Delhi, South-West division Ingit Pratap Singh said that the accused visited her house at around 9 PM on Tuesday. He overpowered the house help who opened the door, retrained and confined her to another room.
In the meantime, a visit by two other people followed. These two men assaulted Kitty and later the 24-year-old accused smothered her with a pillow. The maid managed to untie herself and raise an alarm, said the police.
Mr Singh said that the presence of opened briefcases at the crime spot suggest an attempted robbery that culminated into murder. The police has arrested Raju and is on the lookout for his other two accomplices.
