Charges were framed against Jharkhand Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) General Secretary Nagendra Tripathi and nine others for violating the Model Code of Conduct during the 2014 State Assembly Election by a Special Court on Tuesday.
The alleged violation of the Code of Conduct was done during the Election Campaign in Tenughat which is situated in the Bokaro District in Jharkhand.
Besides Nagendra Tripathi, the President of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) State Unit, Deepak Prakash and Madhav Lal Singh, former Gomia MLA were also involved in the case which is being heard by a Special MP-MLA Court in Dhanbad Civil Court.
The case against Nagendra Tripathi, Deepak Prakash, Madhav Lal Singh and others was registered in 2014 while campaigning ahead of the 2014 Jharkhand Assembly Polls.
The case was transferred to the Dhanbad Special MP-MLA Court after Deepak Prakash, who was not a Member of the Rajya Sabha at the time the case was registered, became a Rajya Sabha Member.
