The Haj Committee of India has stated that no Indian Muslim will be allowed to go for the annual Haj pilgrimage unless and until they have taken two doses of the vaccine. This news comes as a major development.

Maqsood Ahmed Khan made this announcement after the latest directives from Saudi Arabian Health Ministry and the Indian Consulate General in Jeddah. Maqssod is the CEO of the Committee.

He has advised all those who have applied for the Haj 2021 to take the first dose of the vaccine now to avail the second dose before departure. He also made it extremely clear that the entire procedure would be subject to the approval of the Saudi Arabian authorities. There is no official communication on the status of the Haj from the authorities.

Khan said,

“In case Indian pilgrims perform Haj-2021, outgoing flights will start from mid-June.”

The Haj pilgrimage was out of bounds for the Indian Muslims as the haj came along the surging peak of the Covid-19 pandemic and this year the country is witnessing a second much deadlier wave.
