A Sessions Court in Mumbai rejected the Anticipatory Bail plea of actress Gehana Vasisth in a pornography case, in which businessman Raj Kundra is one of the accused.
The actress had applied for Anticipatory Bail before additional Sessions Judge Sonali Agarwal. On Thursday, the Court dismissed the plea.
The property cell of the Mumbai Police Crime Branch had submitted that Vasisht, in her capacity as director of these films, had asked the victim to work on a web series.
The victim claimed that she had objected to an objectionable scene and was assured that it would be removed from the film. However, it was kept when the series was released.
The Court stated, “These are all very serious allegations which need to be investigated. There are no reasonable grounds to grant Anticipatory Bail to the applicant.”
The Mumbai Police have registered multiple FIRs in connection with the production of adult films and their distribution via mobile applications.
Vasisht had stated in her defense that she had been arrested in a similar case in February and granted bail in June. She added that there cannot be multiple FIRs related to the same incident.
