Aumkareshwar Thakur, who reportedly invented the Sulli Deals Application and was Charged with spreading hostility between different communities, was granted Bail by a Delhi Court.
Thakur, according to Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Dr Pankaj Sharma, was a First-Time Offender whose protracted Detention might be damaging to his well-being.
The Defence Counsel contended that, aside from the Forged and Faked disclosure Statements, there is no Information on Record that even slightly Exhibits a Prima Facie Case against the Applicant with respect to the Accused Offences, namely Section 153A of the Indian Penal Code.
Thakur was detained based on Co-Accused Niraj Bishnoi’s disclosure Statement. The Prosecution rejected his Bail request, claiming that the investigation was ongoing and that Forensic findings, as well as replies from Case Mediators, were required. He was Suspected of threatening the Witnesses and Tampering with the Evidence.
The Court, on the other hand, ruled that Thakur’s awaiting Forensic Findings and responses were insufficient grounds to refuse him release. Thakur has been in Judicial Custody since January 9, 2022.
As a result, the Court granted release on a Surety Bond of Rs. 50,000 with the stipulation that he not influence or contact any of the survivors.
Thakur was told not to Tamper with the Evidence and to provide the Investigating Officer his phone number. In addition, he was told to put a pin on Google Maps so that the Police could track him down.
