Advocate Robin Raju representing the NGO contended that it is a major issue now many children are getting addicted to online games which adversely mentally and physically impact the children.

This problem has increased effectively during the pandemic as the classes have to be conducted on online mode hence, children have got very easy access to smartphones.

The NGO had reported that there were many complaints from the parents concerned about their children.

They also presented the data of children who are addicted to online games commit crimes like theft for paying money for online games, children who committed and attempted suicide and children who got into depression.

“Countries like China where these online games have been developed have also taken this seriously and passed certain directions to the game developers to make some tweaks to save the children from online games addiction,” submitted Advocate Raju before the Court.
