A district court in Delhi has barred Naaptol Online Shopping Platform from showing information or making posts that supposedly defame Dabur mosquito repellant product ‘Odomos.’
Dabur claimed that Naaptol Online, an omnichannel purchasing forum, intended to imply that the Odomos reportedly creates allergy symptoms while showcasing its commodity ‘Electric Mosquito Repellent & Insect Killer’ night lamp on its platform, which incorrectly questioned the reputation and creditworthiness of the company.
Dabur, the creator of ‘Vatika’ hair care and ‘Hajmola’ herbal digestive tablets, contended that it is the initial creator and operator of the trademark ‘Odomos,’ which was devised in 1962.
The organisation also claimed that its commodity has been on the market for a long time.
“Looking at the facts and details of the Case, it does seem to be a fit Case for grant of Ex-Parte Ad Interim Injunction,” Additional District Judge Nikhil Chopra noted while Ordering the platform to eliminate supposedly condescending content from its platform.
The Case will be heard again in Court on January 29.
In a different Case, the Calcutta High Court constrained Shree Baidyanath Ayurved Bhawan Pvt. Ltd. from releasing or posting any commercial that allegedly disparages Dabur’s positive reputation and the public image of its commodity ‘Dabur Chyawanprash’ in November.
