In a heartwarming tale of love that transcends borders, the recent wedding between Jodhpur advocate Arbaz and Karachi’s Ameena stands as a testament to the power of technology and the unbreakable bonds of affection.
Despite the geographical and bureaucratic obstacles, love found a way as Ameena, hailing from Karachi, Pakistan, and Arbaz from Jodhpur, India, united their destinies in a unique virtual ceremony. Seema Haider, defying visa regulations, journeyed from Pakistan to India to marry Sachin Meena from Noida, while Karachi’s Ameena was caught in the clutches of visa delays, unable to make the physical journey to India. Undeterred by these challenges, the couple decided to tie the knot online.
The remarkable online union took place on August 2 and featured all the elements of a traditional wedding, albeit on digital platforms. Qazis solemnized the marriage, and the joyous occasion was shared with families on expansive LED screens that broadcasted the festivities simultaneously in Jodhpur, India, and Karachi, Pakistan.
Unlike some cross-border unions that have faced controversy due to political tensions, the Arbaz-Ameena wedding was a peaceful affair.
Prior to the virtual ceremony, the couple had already exchanged engagement vows through their respective families in Pakistan. Faced with the delays in Ameena’s visa process, they decided to take their vows online.
Arbaz’s father, Mohammad Afzal, a respected civil contractor in Jodhpur, explained that the decision was a natural one, given the circumstances.
Mohammad Afzal emphasized that strained relations between India and Pakistan have not overshadowed the enduring ties between people on both sides of the border.
He remarked that cross-border marriages continue to flourish, driven by the presence of relatives who bridge the gap between the two nations.
As the virtual ceremony concluded, Arbaz and Ameena now await the day when Ameena’s visa will allow her to physically join her husband in India.
