A magistrate court in Mumbai dismissed a bailable warrant against Bollywood Actress Kangana Ranaut after she appeared before the court regarding the defamation grievance recorded by lyricist Javed Akhtar. The Andheri metropolitan judge had notified Kangana to appear before the court and had issued summons a month ago, directing her to appear physically.
Earlier, the actress had failed to abide by the court’s order and neglected to turn up which prompted the court to issue a bailable warrant against her. Advocate Rizwan Siddiquee, who is representing the actress, said that the warrant was canceled as Ranaut stayed present in the court. The Andheri metropolitan court bench headed by Magistrate R Khan issued notification to the entertainer “For intentional and willful absence from the proceedings without any defended reasons, despite administration’s request, and therefore the court issues a bailable warrant of Rs 1,000 against the actor Kangana Ranaut.“
Akhtar had recorded a complaint against Ranaut for her supposed bogus claims against him when she railed about nepotism and ‘connections’ in Bollywood in the consequence of Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise. Previously, the Mumbai police presented a report in the court stating that an offense of maligning and defamation was made out against her.
