REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENT- During his administration as the COAS, Singh was designated privileged Aide-de-camp to the President of India. He filled in as the Colonel of the Rajput Regiment and as the privileged Colonel of the Brigade of Guards, by temperance of being the Army Chief.
On 11 March 2011, he was enlisted into the United States Army War College Class of 2001 alumni International Fellows Hall of Fame. He is the 33rd International Fellow and the principal official from the Indian Armed Forces to be drafted. UPBRINGING & EDUCATION – Vijay Kumar Singh was naturally introduced to the Tomar tribe of Rajput. He was brought into the world on 10 May 1951 to Captain (later Colonel) Jagat Singh, an official at that point serving in the fourteenth legion- The Rajput Regiment of the Indian Army, and Krishna Kumari, at the Military Hospital at Pune.
