BACKGROUND – Arjun Singh Bamaniya is a member of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from Banswada. He is the Minister of state for Tribal Area Development (Independent Charge) and Industries and State Enterprises in government of Rajasthan. He was born in Malwasa village of Banswada district of Rajasthan and runs a kerosene agency. He is married to Surat devi who is a housewife.
Before coming into politics he worked in mines as laborer and he was the president of Mine Labor Union. He contested his first election in 1995 and became member of Talwada Panchayat Samiti. Before becoming a member of congress he was associated with Janta Dal. He won his first legislative assembly election from dhanpura in 2003 as a member of Indian national congress.
MAJOR INITIATIVE – He developed the interlocking road system in banswada district and has initiated a project to construct hostels in the tribal regions of Rajasthan.
He has started free scooty scheme for tribal girls in which female students with above than 75% in 10th and 12th is eligible to get a free scooty. To promote education in tribal community Project TAD Super 30 was launched to provide free coaching to competitive exams aspirants.
Under his leadership the tribal department has developed a Matritva Poshan Yojna with the objective to reduce malnutrition in tribal pregnant women. This scheme was initially started in 4 backward districts of the state i.e. Banswara , Udaipur, Dungarpur and Pratapgarh.

2003 – He contested and won assembly election from dhanpura
2004– 2008 – He served as a member of Tribal Development committee.
2008 – He won Rajasthan legislative assembly elections from banswara constituency.
2009-2010 – He was the member of public accounts committee.
2018 – He was again elected as the member of legislative assembly from banswara.
24th December 2018 – He took oath as minister of state in Ashok Gehlot’s council of ministers.
CONTROVERSY – Under his regime as tribal minister a violent protest was held by the youths of tribal community in Udaipur and dungpur districts with the demands to fill the 1887 teacher vacancies in SC and ST quota.
Protestors blocked the National Highway 8 and apart from the loss to public property the death of 2 people between the police and public clash was also reported. Eventually Arjun singh bhamaniya went to meet protestors and agreed to most of their demands to make peace.
