Arjun Ram Meghwal is an Indian Politician who is the current Minister of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, and Parliamentary Affairs since 2019. He’s politically affiliated to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
BACKGROUND- Arjun Ram Meghwal was blessed to Hira Devi Meghwal and Hira Devi Meghwal. He married Pana Dev on 12 May 1968 and they have 4 children. He’s a retired IAS officer of the 1999 batch of the Rajasthan cadre.
UPBRINGING & EDUCATION– Arjun Ram Meghwal hails from Kismidesar Village, Bikaner. He did his schooling at Jawahar Jain Secondary School, Bheenasar, and graduation in Arts, LLB, and post-graduation in (M.A) from Sri Dungar College, Bikaner (Rajasthan), and Masters in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the Philippines University, Philippines.
WALK OF LIFE- Arjun Ram Meghwal after his post-graduation appeared for Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) exam and got elected for Rajasthan Udhyog Seva. He was also the General Manager ofJila Udhyog Kendra. He was designated as Officer on Special Duty to the Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan in 1994.
During the same period, he was entitled Rajasthan Udhyog Seva Parisad- State President. In the Barmer district of Rajasthan, he got appointed as the Additional Collector of Development. He was elected IAS officer of the 1999 batch of the Rajasthan cadre. Later he gave up the position to join politics.
From the Bikaner constituency, Rajasthan he was elected and was a Member of Parliament from the Bhartiya Janata Party. In the year 2014 assembly elections he got reelected from the same constituency. From July 2016 to Sept. 2017, he was Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs.
Also, he served as the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs; and Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation from Sept. 2017 to May 2019. In the year 2019, he was elected as the Minister of State of Parliamentary Affairs and Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.
MAJOR INITIATIVES TAKEN- Under his leadership, major schemes and initiatives were launched such as Capital Goods Scheme to support the industry and to modernize the technologies from current status to global standards. Samarth Udyog Bharat for industry awareness.

CONTROVERSIES- Arjun Ram Meghwal created a controversy when he commented on the mob lynching of a 35-year-old man he said ‘The more popular Modi Ji becomes, the more such incidents will happen.’
