BACKGROUND – Abhay Kumar Gohil is a retired high court judge of Madhya Pradesh High Court and an arbitrator by profession.
Abhay Kumar Gohil was born in Sironj town in Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh on 1st July 1946. He is the son of Shri keshrimal Gohil, a veteran freedom fighter and the chairman of Municipality of Sironj, Madhya Pradesh. A.K. Gohil completed his schooling from his hometown, Sironj, and later, persuaded BA.LLB and graduated from Hamidia College, Bhopal.
Before becoming a judge, Abhay Kumar Gohil worked as a practising lawyer in the Madhya Pradesh High Court in 1967. He was assigned to very respectable positions throughout his career.
He was appointed as the government advocate at the Madhya Pradesh arbitration tribunal, assistant solicitor general, and deputy advocate general in Madhya Pradesh high court.
He was also elected as a member of the state bar council of Madhya Pradesh in 1984. As a member of the state bar council of Madhya Pradesh, he was also appointed as the chairman of various committees.
He was the chairman of the executed committee, enrollment committee, disciplinary committee, welfare committee, and chairman of all India bar council disciplinary appeal committee as well.
