The Supreme Court of India directed the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) Gorakhpur to conduct examination for 11th standard students whose attendance was low due to the ongoing pandemic.
The order was passed by a bench headed by Justice L Nageswara Rao and the bench further observed that this order should be taken as an example in the future.
The order was passed as 11 students from All India Institute of Medical Science Gorakhpur had approached the Supreme Court to seek directions to allow them to attend and give the first-year examinations.
The petition was filed under Article 32 of the Constitution of India in order to seek appropriate directions to the authorities.
The All India Institute of Medical Science Gorakhpur had previously refused to allow the 11 students to appear for their examinations on account of low attendance.
