The Apex Court today in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput death, has upheld the Bihar Government’s order to transfer the case to CBI. Clearing the jurisdictional conflict, the single bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy held that upon the complaint of late actor’s father, the FIR registered with Bihar Police was completely under lawful jurisdiction.  The Court has directed Mumbai Police to help CBI if any assistance is needed and also to handover all the case details to CBI.

The bench held “It is court ordered CBI investigation. Maharashtra police must comply and assist”.

The order came in after rejection of the plea of actress Rhea Chakraborty’s petition seeking transfer of the case from Patna to Mumbai. Justice Roy had reserved the orders after hearing both sides on 11.08.2020. Late actor’s father had lodged an FIR on 25.07.2020 at the Rajeev Nagar Police Station in Patna alleging abatement to suicide against Rhea Chakraborty and five others.
