Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis while talking to media said, a proposal over the ongoing Karnataka-Maharashtra border row is set to be passed in the upcoming winter session of the state Assembly that begins in Nagpur on Monday.
He added, “We will pass a proposal pertaining to the Karnataka-Maharashtra border row in the winter session of the state Assembly. CM Eknath Shinde will table the proposal in the Assembly,”.
Devendra Fadnavis said. The border issue between the two states dates back to 1957 after the reorganisation of states on linguistic lines. “The Congress and the NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) are responsible for this problem. The issue is the creation of the Congress party,” Fadnavis alleged.
The Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi’s (MVA) held their ‘Halla Bol’ rally against the Eknath Shinde-BJP government in Mumbai on Saturday, demanding the removal of Governor B S Koshyari for “insulting” iconic personalities, including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Addressing the gathering at the protest rally, Uddhav Thackeray said that they will not compromise on Maharashtra’s pride.
NCP leaders Ajit Pawar and Sharad Pawar added that the governor of the state should be removed. “Seen so many governors in the past who have brought pride and fame to Maharashtra. But this governor makes insulting statements. We want to centre to remove him immediately”, said Sharad Pawar.
