A Local Court in Mumbai, sent five new accused hailing from Delhi to Narcotic Control Bureau custody till October 7 in the Cruise Ship Drug Case.

The Counsel of the five accused argued that despite the accused being detained along with Aryan Khan after the raid, they weren’t produced before the Court on that day and are now being produced for the first time making their Custody illegal.

Additional Metropolitan Magistrate RM Nirlekar rejected the arguments and considered the timings recorded in their respective arrest to observe that the accused were shown arrested last evening and produced in the Court within 24 hours.

The five accused- Nupur Satija, Ishmeet Chadha, Mohak Jaiswal, Gomit Chopra and Vikram Chhokar-were allegedly found with intermediate quantities of drugs and booked under Section 8(c), 22b, 27, 28 and 29 of the
Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985
.

Moreover, NCB did not give a copy of the remand application to a few of the five accused. Advocate Advait Sethna for NCB claimed that all the accused were arrested within 24 hours. He emphasized that there would be an odds if the custody of these was not granted.

The Court then remanded the accused to custody till October 7.
