After a woman filed a plea asking for necessary support to her son, who is in UAE jail since 25 August 2015 for allegedly spying for the Indian Government,the Kerala High Court has sought the Centre’s response on the issue.
The petitioner claimed that her son is facing continuous torture and harassment in the UAE jail thereby getting no support from the Central government or the Indian embassy at UAE.

It was submitted that her son is alleged for acting for the Indian Embassy officials in UAE and was not provided with proper legal aid to defend himself in the UAE Courts.
Though various representations were made by the petitioner latest being on 11 June wherein she cited human rights violation and denial of basic rights to her son and seeking assistance from the government, petitioner did not receive any response.
In conclusion, petitioner urged the High Court of Kerala to issue directions to the Central Government to provide with necessary support to her son legally, diplomatically and even politically, considering her latest representation.
