A charge sheet was filed against Indian cricket team member, Shikhar Dhawan in Varanasi court on Thursday on account of violating bird-flu guidelines in his recent visit to Varanasi.
The matter was lodged by the Judicial Magistrate Trithiya Diwakar Kumar, after a charge sheet was filed against the cricketer by Advocate Siddharth Srivastava.
The matter is up for hearing on 6th February next and the matter brings a different angle to the case when earlier the Varanasi courts were only considering the boatman for violation of the bird-flu guidelines.
The cricketer had earlier paid a visit to the city in the duration of which during a boat ride he got a photo of him feeding the birds which he shared on his Instagram handle.
Earlier Varanasi District Magistrate, Kaushal Raj Sharma had said only the boatman would face charges and that no charges would be taken against Dhawan on account of some information that some boatmen were not adhering to the administration’s instructions with the tourists involved being unaware.
