Rakhi Sawant took legal action by filing a criminal defamation complaint against her friend in court. The reason for this legal move was her friend’s alleged act of likening Rakhi Sawant to a dog and making disparaging comments about her character.
In her complaint, Rakhi Sawant approached the Andheri metropolitan magistrate, urging legal action against her friend, Rajashree Morey, based on specific sections of the Indian Penal Code.
These sections include IPC 500 (defamation), IPC 504 (intentional insults and provocation), IPC 506 (criminal intimidation), and IPC 509 (intending to insult the modesty of a woman).
The dispute between Rakhi Sawant and Morey unfolded following a disagreement, which escalated to the point where Morey purportedly made derogatory statements about Sawant during a press conference. Sawant’s legal plea emphasized that video evidence of these comments is available online and has become a matter of public record.
The complaint further alleges that Morey not only implied Rakhi Sawant’s involvement in prostitution but also publicly “outraged her modesty.” Additionally, Morey compared the actor to a dog and questioned her mental health.
The case has been scheduled for a hearing on November 6, allowing both parties to present their arguments and evidence in a legal forum.
