The Paradip Model Police registered a case regarding the illegal transportation of cooking coal from Paradip Port.
While the authorities chose to keep mum regarding the case, the investigation of the illegal transportation of Coking Coal instead of Steam Coal also led to the detention of 18 trucks in the port’s prohibited zone begun.
The investigation started after getting proper direction from the Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Kujang.
The matter is about a forgery case wherein Kundan Jha, director of the company TSPL, issued a complaint against 11 people.
Kundan accused the 11 people of forging the signature of his employee, Ramakant Mohapatra.
Adding to this, Kundan also stated that the 11 people allowed the trucks to enter the prohibited area of the port to transport coking coal instead of the steam coal for which they had permits.
Kundan in his statement Accused 10 authorities of a stevedoring company, M/S IN Machinery and Equipment Pvt Ltd, which includes its managing director, Chinmaya Chiranjib Bal, and one Shaikh Ramjan.
Kundan also Accused the managing director of Paradip-based Coastal Transport Pvt Ltd, of harassing his worker Ramakant, wrongfully getting a letterhead from TSPL and forging the latter’s signature to permit trucks for illegal transportation of coking coal.
The Court also ordered the Internal Investigation Command (IIC) to register the case regarding the matter and asked to submit a report by November 18.
