Two Girl Cadets filed a complaint for ‘improper conduct’ during flying lessons against their flying instructor, posted with the Chandigarh National Cadet Corps (NCC) Air Squadron. The National Cadet Corps authorities have accordingly ordered for Court of Inquiry.
The Court of Inquiry is a 4-member committee consisting of a Presiding Officer of the rank of Brigadier, a Colonel and a group captain as members and a lady officer.
The two girl cadets filed the complaint for the incident that occurred in April this year.
The Court of Inquiry was ordered on the official complaint reported by the cadets in the month of June before this they had just notified the matter to the NCC instructor
The girl cadets alleged that the group captain touched them in a malapropos way during flying lessons and the captain denied the allegations against him.
The group Commander NCC Chandigarh, Brig BS Dhillon regarded the complaint by the girl cadets and said that, “The Court of Inquiry is already in progress and will be finalised in a few days’ time. There is nothing to hide. All facts will come to light.”
Effective actions were being taken by the NCC authorities and in 2006, a Lt Colonel who was posted in NCC battalions in Chandigarh was punished with a five years loss of service for purpose of pension and given a severe reprimand, because he was convicted for sexual harassment to a girl cadet during an annual training camp.
