Ministry of External Affairs, India on Thursday in Rajya Sabha stated that its policy on Taiwan is Clear and Consistent.
Further it was noted that the policy is focused on promoting interactions in areas of Trade, Culture, Education, Investment and Tourism among others.
Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan articulated India’s position on Taiwan while replying to an inquiry in Rajya Sabha.
The Minister drafted “Government of India’s policy on Taiwan is clear and consistent.”
Further when interrogated about diplomatic relations, the Minister stated that India doesn’t have formal diplomatic relations with Taiwan, but both sides have trade and people-to-people exchanges.
Furthermore, while replying to a different query the Minister highlighted that the Ministry of External Affairs has initiated with Foreign Governments the need to ease travel restrictions imposed on Indian students enrolled in Foreign Universities.
Mr. Muraleedharan stated “Consequently, travel restrictions have been eased for Indian students to travel to many countries including USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg etc.”
