Karnataka High Court, a man allegedly attempted to end his life by slitting his throat inside Court Hall One. The individual, identified as Srinivas from Mysuru, caught everyone off guard by his sudden action, which unfolded in front of Chief Justice Nilay Vipinchandra Anjaria.
According to police reports, Srinivas handed over a file to security personnel at the entrance of Court Hall One before committing the act. Despite immediate response from security, he managed to inflict self-harm before being rushed to Bowring Hospital for emergency treatment.
Authorities are puzzled by the motive behind the drastic step, with no discernible reason apparent at the scene. Chief Justice Anjaria expressed concern over the security lapse that allowed the man to carry a sharp object into the premises. He has instructed a thorough investigation into the matter and urged the police to gather evidence promptly.
The contents of the file submitted by Srinivas remain unknown, and the court has refrained from examining them, citing procedural irregularities. Furthermore, the High Court has emphasized that documents should not be accepted without proper authorization.
As investigations continue, authorities await Srinivas’s statement once he is declared medically fit. The incident has prompted renewed scrutiny of security protocols within the High Court premises, raising questions about the efficacy of existing measures.
