On 23rd November 2021 Lalu Prasad Yadav, the Rashtriya Janata Dal Chief, appeared before a Special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Court in relation with Fodder Scam Case in which the Former Bihar Chief Minister is one of the prime accused.
The Former Bihar Chief Minister appeared in the Patna CBI Court in poor health and pleaded in front of the court pardon him from physically appearing in the court due to his ailing health. Prajesh Kumar, the Special Court Judge pardoned him from appearing in the court physically, directing that his lawyer can represent him from the next hearing of the case.
Sudhir Sinha, advocate for the Rashtriya Janata Dal Chief in front of reporter stated, “On the next date, the court will examine the witnesses who number about 200. On that date, Laluji has not been asked to appear. However, he will appear whenever the court asks him to do so.”
Lalu Prasad Yadav suffers from several diseases including diabetes, cardiac and renal problems. He is presently living with his daughter Misa Bharti in New Delhi on bail in relation with the Fodder Scam Case. In this case Lalu Prasad Yadav has been accused of fraudulently withdrawing money from a number of districts from Jharkhand in 1996.
The Patna CBI Court, previously directed all the 27 accused and the Former Bihar Chief Minister, to physically appear in the court on 23rd November, 2021. The next hearing of the case is set by the Court for 30th November, 2021.
