In a recent development, the Kerala High Court has taken swift action by suspending its Assistant Registrar Sudhish TA and Court Keeper Sudheesh PM pending an inquiry into a controversial skit performed during the Court’s official Republic Day function.
The skit, which reportedly mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and criticized Central Government schemes, has led to complaints and widespread condemnation.
During the official Republic Day function held in the High Court Auditorium, staff members performed a skit that included mocking dialogues aimed at ridiculing Prime Minister Modi and his government’s policies.
The skit even featured a “Cow dung” jibe against supporters of the Prime Minister, although not directly naming him.
Assistant Registrar Sudhish TA is said to have written the dialogues for the skit, prompting the High Court to take immediate action.
The proceedings issued by the Registrar General of the High Court state, “it is considered necessary by the High Court in the public interest that Shri. Sudhish T.A., Assistant Registrar Hr. Gr., High Court, and Sri. Sudheesh P.M., Court Keeper (Higher Grade)., High Court should be suspended from service pending enquiry and disciplinary action.”
The Chief Justice of the High Court has ordered the immediate suspension of the concerned officers and has further directed a thorough inquiry by the Registrar (Vigilance) into the incident. A detailed report on the matter is expected to be submitted following the investigation.
Additionally, the Chief Justice has instructed the Registrar (Administration) to provide a comprehensive explanation regarding the circumstances surrounding the controversial incident.
The move reflects the High Court’s commitment to addressing the issue promptly and ensuring a fair and transparent investigation into the derogatory content presented during the Republic Day Celebrations.
