Karnataka govt. withdraws night curfew order hours after announcing it

The Karnataka government has withdrawn the night curfew order that was brought hours ago.

The timings for night curfew decided was 10 PM-6 AM till January 2.

Chief Minister Yediyurappa’s office stated:

“The night curfew order, issued earlier, has been withdrawn after reviewing the situation on the suggestion of Technical Advisory Committee.”

The CMO has further appealed to the people of Karnataka to follow the COVID-19 guidelines and wear masks.

The Chief Minister said, “In view of the public opinion that there was no need for night curfew, the decision was reviewed, and after consulting with Cabinet colleagues and senior officials, it has been decided to withdraw the night curfew.”

Earlier Maharashtra has also announced a night curfew till January 5, starting from December 22.

So far, the COVID-19 cases in the state of Karnataka are 9,12,000 and the death record is 12,000.
