On Friday, the High Court of Jharkhand stated that the Charge Sheet which has been filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the unnatural Death Case of a District Judge in Dhanbad is just like a novel.
Adding to this, the Court also stated the CBI failed to prove that the two Accused persons are guilty of Murder charges.
The CBI filed the Charge Sheet last week under Section 302 of the IPC.
Showing their dissatisfaction, a Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad also stated that the probe conducted by the CBI is inconclusive and CBI haven’t found any new facts in this probe.
The Bench also stated that the Charge Sheet filed by the CBI was just for a routine and they are trying to keep the High Court in dark.
“The Investigation is not foolproof and seems to be like a novel,” stated the Court.
It was not the first time when the actions of CBI left the Court in a dissatisfaction.
On October 22, the High Court stated that, “The Agency seems to have worked like babus (clerks) while completing the probe and filing a stereotype Charge Sheet.”
However, on several occasions the CBI stated that the investigation is going on in a good manner and the connection of the two Accused was being explored with the Murder of Judge.
This time the Court made these statements while it was hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed to keep a track of the ongoing investigation of a Death Case of 49-year-old Additional District Judge Uttam Anand.
The Judge Died after being hit by an auto-rickshaw on July 28 in Dhanbad.
Initially, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the State Police was investigating the case.
However, later on the State Government handed the Case to CBI and the agency started its investigation on August 4.
For now, the matter is Adjourned and the next Hearing is scheduled on November 12 for further consideration.
