The Centre on 16th October notified the appointment of seven Advocates as Judges of Gujarat High Court.
Law Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted about the notifications for appointments in Gujarat and other high courts in the country.
The tweet stated: “In exercise of power conferred under the constitution of India, Hon’ble President of India, in consultation with Hon’ble Chief Justice of India, is pleased to appoint the following advocates as Judges of the Gujarat High Court”
The seven Advocates appointed are Mauna Manish Bhatt, Samir J Dave, Hemant M Prachchhak, Sandeep N Bhatt, Aniruddha Pradyumna Mayee, Niral Rashmikant Mehta and Nisha Mahendrabhai Thakore.
Names of these Advocates including two women were suggested by Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting which was held on September 29th.
They are likely to take oath of office on Monday, October 18th.
