The Gujarat High Court has directed the State Government to take imperative actions to prepare the health infrastructure in the State to face the third wave.
The Bench comprising Justices Bela M Trivedi and Bhargav D Karia recommended the following “Testing, tracing and treatment” as the Covid-19 cases have come down and it would be easier for the administration to trace and quarantine contacts.
The Court was also hearing a suo-motu PIL registered in this regard.
Senior Advocate Percy Kavina submitted that though details regarding orders placed for vaccines were made publicly available, the vaccination schedule details were not provided by the Government.
It was also highlighted that there was no explanation provided regarding the method of treatment for Mucormycosis patients and there was no clarity afforded to the public in respect to the time gap between two doses of vaccine.
Therefore, Percy Kavina urged the State Government to lay down clear guidelines on such aspects.
However, Advocate General Kamal Trivedi said that the vaccination is an ongoing process and details cannot be placed as vaccine manufacturers had not provided a schedule for its supply.
The matter to be further heard on July 2, 2021.
