An Order by the Department of Health and Family Welfare read that with effect from February 28, there will be no penalty on people not wearing masks and traveling together in Private Four-Wheeler in Delhi.
Resultantly, now the penalty for not wearing masks in public spaces will no longer apply to people traveling in cars.
Besides this, an Order was issued by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on February 26, reducing the fine for not wearing masks or maintaining social distancing from Rs 2,000 to Rs 500. The Order was made based on the decisions taken at the DDMA meeting held on February 25.
Earlier, the Delhi High Court questioned the Delhi Government’s Order that makes wearing masks in cars mandatory, calling it “Absurd” and asked the DDMA to have a re look at the COVID-19 protocols.
After which, the Government said that the people traveling alone in four-wheeler were not required to wear masks.
The Order issued by DDMA also lifts all COVID-related restrictions in the National Capital from February 28 onwards.
Thus, confirming the announcement made by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on February 25. This implies that night curfew will be lifted, markets can stay open till 10 PM, and restaurants, bars, cafes, and cinema halls can function at 100 percent seating capacity.
Further, till March 31, the blended or hybrid model of learning in schools will be followed for students up to class 9 and for class 11 after which classes will be completely offline.
