The Delhi High Court instructed the Aam Aadmi Party to submit a report regarding the decision taken in Association of Healthcare Providers (India) v. GNCTD to reduce the reservation in the ICU beds for COVID-19 patients to 60%.

A bench headed by Justice Subramonium Prasad passed the order while hearing a petition challenging the 12th September order passed by the Delhi government on mandatory reservation.

The petition was filed by the Association of Healthcare Providers.

Earlier on 22nd September, the Delhi government’s order was stayed by the court.

The stay order was vacated by the High Court in the light of the pandemic later.

During the previous hearing, it was brought to the notice of the court that an Expert Committee appointed had recommended a graded de-escalation of reservation beds in ICUs.

The court had not passed any order then as the court was waiting for the government’s decision on the same.

The government had however agreed with the recommendations of the Expert Committee.

The review report would be submitted on 5th January, and the vacation bench decided to list the matter before the roster bench.

The hearing is further listed on 8th January.
