The Delhi High Court after hearing a plea seeking for extension in the date of application for registration to appear in the NEET PG 2021 examination, ordered the Centre as well as the National Board of Examination to take into consideration that whether the date of internship completion by the candidates is also liable to be extended.
A single bench of Justice Prateek Jalan has ordered the Centre to cooperate and coordinate with the concerned authorities in this matter and take appropriate decisions in the aforementioned aspect before the next hearing of the case.
The plea was filed by Advocates RK Saini and Ankit Singh.
The plea was filed on behalf of a medical student Siddharth Mittal who contended in accordance to the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare examination was scheduled to be held on 18th April, but later it was rescheduled to 11th September.
The plea further reads “That the Petitioner along with several other students who have now completed their internship or are likely to complete their internship by 30.09.2021 only whereafter the admission/counselling process can commence now, will have to wait unnecessarily, God knows till when, for appearing in the NEET-PG examination, even though they have now become eligible for admission to the PG course and the admission test for the- same i.e. NEET-PG 2021 is yet to take place.”
The case will be further heard on 12 August.
