Renowned Actor Shah Rukh Khan‘s son Aryan Khan on Sunday skipped presenting before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) investigating the Cruise Drugs Case.
An Official from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) highlighted that the anti-drug agency’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Sunday informed Aryan Khan to appear before it the same day, although he did not appear citing fever.
The Agency transferred six investigation cases, including the Mumbai cruise drugs case, to Senior officer Sanjay Kumar Singh. He reached Mumbai on Saturday and headed the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
The NCB had arrested Aryan Khan and at least 19 others in the Mumbai Cruise Drugs Case the previous month.
The Agency’s Mumbai Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede has been facing a departmental surveillance investigation after a witness in the case claimed an extortion bid by those involved in the investigation.
Sameer Wankhede visited the NCB office to register his weekly presence as per the Bail Norms set by the Bombay High Court.
After release from the Arthur Road prison, this was Aryan Khan’s first appearance at the NCB office.
The High Court had directed in its Order that Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha, and co-accused who were also released on Bail, will have to submit their passports before the special court under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) and are not permitted to leave India without seeking permission from the special court.
Furthermore, it was also directed that the Accused have to appear at the NCB office each Friday between 11 am and 2 pm to register their presence.
