The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested an absconding accused, Hariom Gupta from Latur District, Maharashtra, in a case related to Forest Guard Recruitment Test 2013 conducted by Vyapam.

The CBI had registered the instant case in compliance of order dated July 9 and September 11, 2015 of the Supreme Court and taken over investigation for trial from Madhya Pradesh Police.

Earlier in 2013, a case was registered with Ambah Police Station of MP against the said accused.

In 2013, it was alleged that the accused appeared in the Forest Guard Recruitment Test in the name of the original candidate.

After investigation, a chargesheet was also filed by the police against the said impersonator and a candidate in the court of judicial magistrate on June 6, 2013.

During the trial, the said accused, having a permanent address in UP’s Maharajganj fled from the judicial process after which a non-bailable warrant was issued against him.

After strenuous efforts by the CBI towards finding him, he was arrested from Latur. The accused was produced before the additional sessions judge for CBI cases at Gwalior and remanded him to judicial custody.
