Another farmers’ body files plea in SC saying farm laws beneficial

A farmers’ body has approached the Supreme Court seeking an impleadment in the pending matters related to the farm laws.

The Consortium of Indian Farmers Associations (CIFA) has urged before the top court to represent other farmer associations in the matter and seek their views on the same.

A bench headed by the Chief Justice of India S A Bobde will be hearing all the pleas related to the farm laws on January 11.

The plea stated:

“We wish (to) submit that farm reforms are beneficial to enable increased income to farmers and growth of agriculture.”

The farmer union’s leaders have also stated before that in the case of the talks not succeeding on the 4th of Jan, they will arrange a ‘march/parade’ from the Singhu border to Delhi.

The arrangements for tractor rallies from January 6 to January 20, the burning of the new farm laws on Lohri (January 13), and the celebration of Mahila Kisan Diwas on January 18 are also part of their plans.
