The Court was hearing a case where a person was promised Rs 10 lakhs loan by the bank for which he had to submit Rs 1 lakh as a considerable amount, the person after coming to the knowledge that he was cheated and has lost the sum of Rs 1 lakh committed suicide.
The Court said that “The act of cheating a person, seemingly by a well-organized gang, in times that are so hard and dear on account of the Covid-19 pandemic, where scores of citizens have lost their jobs, is an enormous crime.”
