A petitioner named Mani Munjal has expressed dissatisfaction with the Bar Council of India’s (BCI) delay in releasing the results of the 17th All India Bar Examination (AIBE), which was held on February 5th, 2023.
More than two and a half months have passed since the exam, but the results have not been announced, causing the petitioner to feel that her right to practice law is being threatened and her livelihood is being affected.
As a result, the petitioner has requested that the BCI immediately declare the exam results as there is no reasonable explanation for the prolonged delay.
Despite the BCI releasing a provisional answer key on the day of the examination and a final answer key on April 20th, 2023, there is no indication of when the exam results will be announced.
According to the All India Bar Examination Rules of 2010, the petitioner cannot represent a litigant or work as a lawyer until passing the AIBE.
