The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate in a court in Delhi issued a production warrant for the appearance of Aam Aadmi Party MLA, Somnath Bharti on January the 18th.
The Additional Chief Magistrate, Ravindra Kumar Pandey issued a warrant on basis of Bharti’s alleged assaulting case of security staff in AIIMs in 2016 under section 505/153 of the IPC on grounds of his remarks towards the hospital and the UP government.
This comes after Advocate Mohd Irshad for Somnath Bharti moved an exemption application as he said his client was currently in Judicial Custody in UP, as an answer to which the judge sent the production warrant to the Jail Superintendent of the facility detaining the accused.
The court plans on passing judgement in a case registered against him where he is accused of rioting, damaging public property, and obstructing the duty of a public servant.
This roots back to September 9th 2016, when the man allegedly with around 300 of his supporters beat up the security of the AIIMS who had asked them to leave their premises.
