The 3 prime accused in the human sacrifice case were remanded to judicial custody for 14 days on Wednesday by a Magistrate court in Ernakulam.

Muhammed Shafi (also known as Rashid), Bhagaval Singh, and Laila Bhagawal Singh are the three accused.

When the mutilated bodies of two women were found on Tuesday in Thiruvalla in the Pathanamthitta district, word of human sacrifice spread throughout the State.

A human sacrifice ring was discovered by State police as a result of an investigation into two missing women.

In Ernakulam, the two women were selling lottery tickets when they vanished in June and September of this year.

In Kerala, neither of the women had families.

The purported murder of the women, which was allegedly carried out as part of a human sacrifice, led to the arrest of three people yesterday.

One Rashid was detained by the authorities after allegedly planning the kidnapping and carrying out the sacrifice murder.

Bhagaval Singh and Laila, a married couple who are also suspected, were detained on suspicion of having ordered and participated in the ritual murder.
