REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENT– He took responsibility for law and order and justice delivery that is No bandh and blockades, since he came in power he made quite good initiatives to make environment a whole state. There are more achievement like in tribunal affairs, minorities welfare, education, connectivity, Agriculture, Tourism and others.

INTRODUCTION– He is the 12th and current Chief Minister of Manipur.
BACKGROUND– He was national level footballer turned journalist. Then, he joined politics and by that regional democratic revolutionary people’s party in 2002. Then, he was elected to Manipur Legislative Assembly from Heingang constituency and later merged with congress before the 2004 assembly elections. In 2003, he was appointed as Minister of State for Vigilance and later became Minister of Irrigation and Flood Control and Youth Affairs and Sports, there he retained his seat in assembly in both 2007 & 2012. Thus, because of the relationship with Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh he was excluded from the cabinet in 2012, where he was the vice president of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee then, Later, he left Congress and joined BJP in October 2016. In May 2016, BJP won the assembly elections in Assam.
UPBRINGING AND EDUCATION– He began his career as a footballer and got selected in the Border Security Force (BSF) playing for its team in domestic competitions. Later, he gave resignation from BSF and became Journalist with no experience of work, and began the daily Naharolgi Thoudang in 1992 and worked as editor till 2001.
WALK OF LIFE– He started his career as a footballer and also contributed himself as a social worker, where he raises issues for the welfare of indigenous people in Manipur, and he laid the foundation stone for the new academic building of Manipur Public School. The project came under by Manipur Minorities and OBC Economic Development Society (MOBEDS). He started his political career in 2002, where he was elected to Manipur Lagislative Assembly.
MAJOR INITIATIVES TAKEN– Around 111.98 lakh kisan credits cards have been passed with a limit of Rs. 89,810 crore and with 2 lakh concessional credit boost which aims to drive 2.5 crore farmers towards.
CAREER TIMELINE
He was national- level footballer turned journalist.
In 2002 he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Manipur, as the Democratic Revolutionary Peoples Party (DRPP) candidate in the constituency Heingang.
In 2003 he was appointed Minister of State of Vigilance in the Manipur state government.
In 2007 he retained his Assembly seat, contesting on behalf of the Indian National Congress (INC) and was later appointed as the Minister of Irrigation & Flood Control and Youth Affairs & Sports in the State Government.
In 2016 Singh formally joined the BJP on 17 October 2016 and later became the Spokesperson and Co-convener of the Election Management Committee of BJP Manipur Pradesh.
In 2017 he was elected as leader of the BJP Legislature Party in Manipur and with a majority of MLAs having been presented to the Governor, he was sworn in as Chief Minister of Manipur on 15 March 2017. He is the first ever BJP Chief Minister in Manipur.
CONTROVERSIES
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh and a top state BJP leader have been accused by a senior officer of the state Narcotics and Affairs of Border Bureau (NAB) of allegedly putting pressuring on the department to drop the case against a person accused in a drug seizure raid which took place in June 2018.
