News Update: Army Major to be produced before Court in Pune in Soldier recruitment exam paper leak case.

Army officer of Major rank, who has been arrested by the police in the case of paper leak in the soldier recruitment process, will be produced before the Court in Pune. Officials have stated that two more serving individuals have come under the scanner in the case.

Military Intelligence and Crime Branch of Pune City police conducted multiple raids in a joint operation resulting in the recovery of a question paper.

The question paper was that of the Common Entrance Exam (CEE) for the recruitment of Soldier (General Duty).

The question paper was recovered a few days prior to the exam which indicated a leak. The exam was then cancelled.

A team from Pune City brought the 45-year old Army Major to Pune from the Army establishment in Wellington, Tamil Nadu, where he had been posted.

He was then formally placed under under-arrest. He will be produced before the court where the police will be seeking his custodial remand for further interrogation.

Said officer has been alleged to have played a key role in the entire affair and said officer is the seventh person arrested in the case. Earlier two Army personnel and three others had been arrested. The exam, which was to take place in 40 other centres was cancelled.
