Hyderabad: Accused acquitted for assaulting policemen at bar

A city court in Hyderabad acquitted two persons who were accused of assaulting policemen.

They were alleged of being in an inebriated condition at Kushaiguda in 2016.

The two persons created nuisance in the bar and while the patrolling team reached the spot the police constable was assaulted.

They were charged under Section 353, Section 323 and Section 506 of the Indian Penal Code.

One of the accused in the case died after the incident took place and the court thereby conducted the trial against the other accused in the case and delivered the judgement. 

The main witness in the case was one of the constables who were assaulted and he appeared before the court during the chief examination, however, abstained from the court during the cross-examination.

The prosecution did not examine the other witnesses and furthermore, the investigating officer revealed during the hearing that there was no CCTV footage collected from the crime scene.
